Hope and Healing After an Addiction Death will host a 2nd Annual Candlelight Vigil in remembrance of those who have died from the disease of addiction. The vigil will be held on Wednesday, September 13th, 7:00pm at the Red Barn, Crestwood Lake located on West Crescent Avenue in Allendale, NJ.

Please join us as we honor their memory, promote healing for their loved ones, and end the stigma and shame associated with the disease of addiction. ALL ARE WELCOME!! There will be a Wall of Remembrance where people are welcome to post a picture and write a note. Candles will be provided.

In response to the Opioid and Heroin epidemic affecting Bergen County and beyond, a bereavement group called Hope and Healing After an Addiction Death, was founded in 2015. For two and one half years, the group has been a safe haven for those affected by the epidemic to share their grief and learn a new way of living.

The group is run by Gail Cole, who lost her son Brendan on January 4, 2014 to a heroin overdose, and Lani Bonifacic, a licensed clinical social worker who volunteers her time. Meetings are held the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at Calvary Lutheran Church located at 165 West Crescent Avenue, Allendale, NJ at 7:30pm. A young adults meeting is also offered for those aged 17 or older who have been affected by an addiction loss.
