Meet the Director
Judith Migliaccio, Health Officer/Director
Judith Migliaccio has been employed by the Paramus Board of Health since 1988, and was appointed Health Officer/Director in 2011. In this position, Ms. Migliaccio is responsible for planning, directing and controlling the Health Department, determining the health needs of the community, and implementing public health programs to meet needs, pursuant to the regulations of the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services. She holds the major responsibility for administering and setting goals for programs in Maternal and Child Health, Chronic Disease Detection and Control, Communicable Disease Control and Prevention, Environmental Health, Health Education and Vital Statistics. Responsibilities of the Board of Health also include Human Services and Animal Control Services.
Mrs. Migliaccio is a co-leader of the Nutrition and Physical Activity Task Force of the Community Health Improvement Partnership of Bergen County. She is also a member of the steering committee of the Bergen County Public Health Partnership. The Public Health Partnership is a coalition of governmental public health officers representing local municipal health departments, regional health commissions and the county health department, which plans and coordinates the development of the local governmental public health system and its operation. One of the primary roles of the Bergen County Public Health Partnership is to work with other key corporate, private and non-profit entities to develop a community health partnership, whose mission is to assess community health needs, determine county health status indicators, identify gaps in service, develop a community health improvement plan (Community Health Improvement Plan), and oversee implementation of the plan
