Animal Bite Reports
REPORTING ANIMAL BITES THAT HAVE OCCURRED IN PARAMUS
Because warm blooded animals, such as cats, dogs, bats, raccoons, skunks and other wildlife, can carry and transmit rabies, animal bites should always be reported to the Health Department.
For bites that occurred in Paramus, phone the Paramus Police Department at 201-262-3400 to make a report. The matter will be investigated and followed up by an Environmental Health Specialist.
For bites that occurred in other municipalities, phone the Health Department in that jurisdiction. For a list of New Jersey health departments and the municipalities they cover, go to http://www.state.nj.us/health/lh/directory/lhdselectcounty.shtml.
