Paramus Municipal Parks
THE CLIFF GENNARELLI-PARAMUS SPORTS-PLEX
Located at Paramus Road & Garden State Plaza Boulevard. This lighted Sports-Plex is the centerpiece of the park system in Paramus. This facility contains our lighted baseball, little league, softball, soccer, football, basketball and tennis facilities. The restrooms are open to the public for scheduled events and the snack bar is run by volunteers of our athletic programs. The playground has activities for children of all ages. The fitness walk is used by residents of all ages. A permit is required for any organized group activity. A pavilion and picnic area is also available.
PETRUSKA PARK
475 Farview Avenue north of Midland Avenue-The office of Paramus Recreation is in the park. This major town park contains baseball and little league fields, playground equipment for all ages, a handball wall, picnic tables and a combination lighted basketball/roller hockey court. Rest Rooms are open during organized events.
PARKWAY PLEX
A sports field facility located behind Parkway School on East Ridgewood Avenue. This facility has two Little League fields and three Soccer/Lacrosse areas.
BESEN PARK
Is a neighborhood park that can be accessed from Howland Avenue, Ramile Court, W. Village Circle or Schimmel Street off Lucky Hollow Drive. A natural wooded area with a playground for children of all ages is available in this park. The open expanse of lawn area is used for informal baseball, soccer and/or football games.
BUEHLER PARK
Is a green belt park on South Farview Avenue between Route 4 and Route 17. An interpretive trail meanders through the park with several areas depicting the role of aviation in New Jersey history and is currently being upgraded. Parking is available in the parking lot opposite Paramus Fire Co. No.4.
CONSTITUTION GROVE PARK
Is located at the intersection of Farview Avenue & East Midland Avenue. The entrance to this grove is off of East Midland Avenue. There is a walkway system through this native woodland. Located along the roadways are monuments dedicated to the Paramus Rescue Squad, Rotary Club and Christopher Columbus/Unico.
DI MAGGIO PARK
Is a neighborhood park located at the intersection of Oliver Road and Flint Place. The park has playgrounds for both youths aged 2-5 and another for youths 5-12. In addition to this, there is a half basketball court and handball wall.
FABER PARK
Is a neighborhood park located at the dead end of Hemlock Drive.
FIREMENS PARK
Is a monument park area for reflection at the intersection of Forest Avenue & Spring Valley Road dedicated to the Paramus Volunteer Fire Department.
HOWLAND MEMORIAL GROVE
Is a monument park area for reflection. This Grove honors Paramus residents who perished on September 11, 2001.
MADISON PARK
Is a neighborhood park located at the intersection of June Drive & Jay Drive. There are playgrounds for youths ages 2-5 and 5-12 and a walking path circumferences the park.
McELLEN PARK
Is a neighborhood park that can be accessed from either Vassar Drive or Heather Lane. The playgrounds equipment for youths 2-5 and 5-12 for area children. The park also contains a Basketball Court.
MELE PARK
Is a neighborhood park located at the dead end of Silverrod Court. There are playgrounds for youths aged 2-5 and 5-12 and a walking path that circumferences the park. The small parking lot accommodates vehicles for parents whose children participate in the fall soccer program that is scheduled on this field.
REID PARK
Is a neighborhood park located at the dead end of Spencer Place. This long established park contains a softball field, soccer field, playground and basketball court. The Borough of Paramus recently acquired 17 acres of woodland that increases this park to over 20 acres. Portions of the new area are state designated wetlands that cannot be developed and will remain as natural areas. There is an interpretive Nature Trail walkway through the natural areas and adjacent wetlands connecting Reid Park to Solder Hill Road.
SIRIANNI PARK
Is a neighborhood park located at the end of Midwood Road. A little league field, playground, basketball court, handball wall and open play area are located at Sirianni Park. The restrooms are open during organized events only. The small parking lot accommodates vehicles for parents whose children participate in Little League Baseball.
SPRING VALLEY PARK
Is a green belt park on Spring Valley Avenue between Farview Avenue and the Maywood border. It is a natural area.
FAIRWAY OAKS PARK
Is the newest neighborhood park located off Paramus Road and accessible from Farmington Lane and Cumberland Court. This newest neighborhood park contains a fitness walk and native trees. There are playgrounds for youths aged 2-5 and 5-12.
VETERAN’S MEMORIAL PARK
Is a monument park adjacent to Memorial School on Midland Ave between Farview & Forest Avenues. It is dedicated to the Veterans who served our country in all six branches of military service, Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard and Merchant Marines. There are benches for reflection and a Memorial Brick walkway. Details on having a Memorial Brick installed can be obtained from the Paramus Office of Veteran Affairs. 201-265-2100 xtn 6110.
