Pet licensing is part of our municipal rabies control program. Pet licensing ensures that dogs and cats have up to date rabies immunizations, which protects your family and pets against rabies. Licensing encourages pet population control, through the low cost spay and neuter program and license discounts for spayed or neutered pets. Licensing also has the added benefit of providing an easy way of identifying lost pets so they can be quickly returned to their proper owners.
Licenses expire every year on June 30th. On or after July 1st, a late charge of $10 is applied. You may purchase a 3 year license if your dog or cat has been recently immunized and the immunization period is valid through April 30th of the third year of the license.
